George III gilt Proof Pattern "Spade" Guinea 1791 PR58 PCGS, Royal mint, cf. WR-105. With subtle reflectivity throughout the fields and moments of underlying copper dappling the reverse. This interesting pattern shows the iconic portrait of George III atop a planchet that is saturated in umber coloration. A bevy of mild handling marks align with the grade, while wear is barely visible to the unaided eye. The only certified example of the type at PCGS, and intriguing thusly.
