Edward VII gold Coronation Medal 1902 MS63 NGC, Royal mint, Eimer-1871b, BHM-3737. 31mm. By G.W. deSaulles. Impressively engraved and perfectly struck, with surfaces texture that is somewhere between the coarse appearance of a matte finish and the fine appearance of a satin finish. Very slight handling determines the grade, but overall the eye-appeal remains quite strong with a slight reddish tone over both sides due to the medals alloy mixture. Given this piece's close associations with the coronation of Edward VII, it should appeal heavily to the collector that enjoys numismatic beauty and treasures history.
