George I nickel Specimen Essai 20 Lepta 1912 SP67 PCGS, Paris mint, KM-E29. Superb Gem quality, with faint die polish lines on both sides that run vertically through the fields and adds a sparkling element to the appearance. Rare in any state and prohibitively so in this elite preservation, with a slightly lesser example (graded MS66 by NGC) bringing $3,737.50 in our 2012 CICF auction. This example is the single finest graded at either PCGS or NGC.
