British India. East India Company - William IV gold Mohur 1835.-(c) AU Details (Mount Removed) NGC, Calcutta mint, KM451.2, S&W-1.9 Type A/SG. "RS" on neck. Mild, but not unsightly cleaning is observed in the fields and evidence of a previous mount is confined to a tiny area atop the pearl border at 11 o'clock. Rare and highly desirable as a type and all considered, one of the more affordable examples that one might be able to find.
