Islamic Dynasties
Xinjiang Rebellions. Ya'qub Beg (AH 1282-1294 / AD 1865-1877) gold Tilla AH 1292 (1875/6) XF, Kashgar mint, 3.63g, KM-C37-2.6, A-M3090.2. Citing Abd al-Aziz. A rare offering of this rebel coinage with a reference to the Ottoman Sultan as overlord in an effort to use the Ottoman Empire as a shield against both the Russians and Chinese as the rebels claimed the better part of what would eventually become the Xinjiang (Sinkiang) province of modern-day China.
