Venice. Alvise Pisani silver Osella Year VI (1740)-AD MS64 NGC, Paol-223 (R). Obv. Lion of St. Mark to left, head facing forward, with paw on open book. Rev. Six line inscription in wreath. A amazing example of this imperfectly produced issue. The engraving is crude, with the flan not completely round, but the surfaces are near-flawless, for handling marks, and sparkling pearlescent luster helps give this piece incredible eye-appeal. It is truly hard to imagine how a specimen, of this type, remained as fresh as this piece.
