Dutch Administration gold Proof Restrike 2-1/2 Cents 1945 PR64 PCGS, struck without mintmark, type of KM316 and Scholten-932, but unlisted in gold. A small 227 is counterstamped on the obverse by the E of INDIE. The surfaces remain bright and exhibit much reflectivity with only a few tiny spots of patination immediately visible. The regular issue coinage of this date was struck at a U.S. mint with the corresponding P, D, or S mintmark, or other privy mark. This example does not have a mintmark and it is speculated that the few known examples of this issue in gold were struck in the Netherlands after 1945.
