THESSALY. Larissa. Ca. 356-342 BC. AR drachm (5.98 gm). NGC Choice AU 5/5 - 2/5. Head of the nymph Larissa facing slightly left, hair in ampyx / Horse standing right, preparing to lie down. Deeply struck from a gorgeous obverse die. HGC 4, 453. Lorber, Hoard, Phase L-II. BCD Thessaly II 316. Some deposits and light porosity around periphery (NGC surface rating of 2 is overly harsh in our view), otherwise well centered and crisply struck from dies of pleasing style.
