ROMAN EMPIRE: Marcus Aurelius (AD 161-180). Lot of fifteen (15) AR denarii. VF - XF. A diverse group from an old European collection, including six of Marcus as Caesar under Antoninus Pius (AD 138-161). Reverses include: Minerva standing right, Minerva left with branch, Honos sacrificing, Virtus with parazonium, Clementia with patera, Concordia seated left, Roma seated left, Aequitas with scales, Justicia seated left, Genius of the Senate, Mars (or Roma?) with Victory, Providentia with globe, and Liberalitas with abacus. A pleasing group with several scarce to rare varieties, should be examined closely.
