A note from BCD: The first volume is the forerunner of what we call today, SNG Cop. There are many engravings that could be matched to the SNG photos and this alone should provide ample enjoyment. The second volume describes the Roman coins and we see that the holdings of Copenhagen in Roman coins around the first decade of the 19th century were much more numerous than the Greek. This situation was reversed one hundred years later as the Danes were strong buyers of Greek coins from the British, French, Austrian and German auctions that became increasingly plentiful from about the middle of the 19th century onwards.
