POST-WORLD II:. Stack's. New York, 1-3 May 1980. The Greater New York Numismatic Convention Sale. The Frederick S. Knobloch Collection of Roman Imperial Coins. 1438 lots, 222 +2 pages, 4 colour + 36 b+w plates. Photocopy of prices realized list. Illustrated glossy white card covers as issued, ink marks at a few numbers, partly split at spine, shelf worn. Interior Very Good. CS 3672
A note from BCD: Although presented in a more elegant catalogue from the one of two years ago, Knobloch's Roman Imperial sale did not do as well. The explanation is simple: a dealer has to give priority to his customer and will only keep a coin for himself if it is either overpriced or not up to the required standard. Apparently, in the late 70's, collectors of Roman Imperial coins were keen buyers of high quality material and therefore Knobloch was left with coins that were not the best.
