Jamaica Government of Jamaica 5 Shillings 1904-18 Pick 32a. Scenes of sugarcane and banana planting flank the center vignette of Dunn's River Falls on this early government issued example. During this time, higher denominated banknotes were issued by commercial banks, with the government printing only lower denomination "coin notes." These were expected to circulate as heavily as coins in the unforgiving heat and humidity of Jamaica, leaving appealing examples such as this one very elusive. A wonderful, solid PMG Choice Very Fine 35 example. From The Minot Collection HID08701242017
