Cyprus Government of Cyprus £1 30.10.1914 Pick 5s Specimen. TDLR carried through the simple designs utilized on the Shillings denominated notes of this series to the £1 layout. A profile portrait of King George V and his royal coat of arms appear at the top and bottom margins respectively, with the value repeated at left and right. Printed in black with a brown secondary tint on watermarked paper, this note served as a Specimen and was appropriately rubberstamped SPECIMEN in the lower right margin. It also has a solid zero serial number and is perforated CANCELLED. Like the previous two notes, this example has traces of mounting residue on the left border. PMG grades this note Choice Uncirculated 63. Like the two lower denominations, this note design is extremely rare, with only one other auction appearance in 2015 when this note fetched $27,093. Opportunities to acquire great rarities are far and few between and we expect that price level to be tested today. HID08701242017
