Cyprus Government of Cyprus £1 2.1.1936 Pick 18s Specimen. Dated eighteen days before George V died, but actually issued months after he passed away, this note was used as a temporary measure after Edward VIII abdicated the throne on December 11, 1936. This Specimen has a solid zero serial number and is perforated CANCELLED. PMG grades it About Uncirculated 50 noting some printers' annotations that appear in the top face margin and some lightened stains. There is only one previous auction sale for a Specimen recorded, which occurred when this note crossed the auction block for $7,050 in 2016. HID08701242017
