Library of Italy- Mundi Corpus Nummorum 1928-29 Vol. 1-4. Each volume is stored individually in a paperboard case with each loose sheet having a picture of either both sides of a then current circulating note (reduced to 3/5ths of actual size) or both sides of then current coins (at actual size). Both sides of the notes have "Facsimile" overprinted on them. Also, these plates have been mounted by hand on to the sheets. Information about the objects are found on the back of each sheet in five different languages, Italian, French, English, German, and Spanish. Volume I is 50 sheets and contains the countries of Italy, Switzerland, France, and Belgium. Included, but not listed, in this volume are Liechtenstein and San Marino. Volume II is 49 sheets and is composed of the countries of Spain, Portugal, and Luxembourg. Volume III is a total of 51 sheets and has the countries of the Netherlands, Danzig, Austria, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, and Gibraltar. Volume IV lists 50 sheets, but in actuality this volume contains 49 sheets with the 49th being shared by not only the gold and silver coins of Norway, but also Norway's nickel and copper coins. The countries in Volume 4 are Germany, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Norway, and Denmark. These books are not graded, but there is some damage to the paperboards with a disengaged piece from Volume 1 and the first plate in the same volume has a couple of tears and a missing piece. We also see a very little amount of pencil writing marginalia. The paperboard cases are fragile due only to age. Nonetheless, this is a great item for the collector of European notes or the numismatic bibliophile. There will be no returns on this lot for any reason. HID08701242017
