Proof Seated Quarters
1876 25C PR66 PCGS. Stunning patina intermingles in shades of mint, teal, rose, aqua, steel-blue, and lilac on this Centennial-year Seated quarter proof, which shows virtually pristine preservation under the moderate layer of toning. The large mintage figure of 1,150 proofs included, Walter Breen theorizes in his Proof Encyclopedia, some dated 1875. The Centennial date makes this issue popular, of course, and this example's standout surfaces certainly make it a tempting potential acquisition.
