Early Half Dollars
1795/1795 50C 3 Leaves, O-111, T-19, High R.4 -- Improperly Cleaned -- NGC Details. VG. A distinctive 9x7 berry combination on the wreath with three leaves below the eagle's wings. O-111 is a scarce variety, wherein the present coin is a collectible, low-grade example. The central devices are boldly outlined and the peripheral legends are mostly clear even though the rims fade away in places (normal for screw press-struck half dollars of this period). The surfaces are uniformly gunmetal-gray and glossy from an old cleaning. The heavy die break from the reverse rim at 10 o'clock obliterates the STA in STATES.
