1803 50C Large 3, Small Reverse Stars, O-101, T-1, R.3, XF40 PCGS. Tompkins Die State 2/3. Although the Overton-101 (Tompkins-1) and O-103 (T-3) varieties share the same obverse die and the reverses are similar, the field stars above the eagle are noticeably different. The present coin displays Small Reverse Stars, confirming O-101. This lightly toned, golden-gray example displays iridescent colors at the rims and a few grade-consistent, small marks. The vertical shield stripes are incompletely brought up.
