Bust Half Dollars
1832 50C Large Letters, O-101, R.2, AU58 PCGS. CAC. O-101 is the sole Large Letters die pair for 1832, yet the most notable diagnostics for the variety do not involve the size of the lettering. Two of the pick-up points occur on the obverse. It is a Laced Lips variety, with a vertical die line from lips to chin, and the 8 in the date is boldly recut. On the reverse, a bold die break from the tail feathers into the left wing confirms the die marriage. This is a lightly toned and original near-Mint example, still lustrous with russet and blue accents over pleasing, silver-gray surfaces.
