1872-CC 50C WB-101, Die Pair 1, R.4, XF45 NGC. Elusive in all grades, the 1872-CC is one of five scarce-to-rare Carson City issues that challenge specialists of the series. Although not as rare as the 1870-CC, 1871-CC, 1874-CC, or 1878-CC, it is nearly so and the 1872-CC is always on many want lists. This is an attractive, lightly toned silver-gray example with few marks with nice luster remaining on both sides. Sharply struck for the Choice XF grade. Census: 16 in 45, 15 finer (7/17).
