Large Cents
1811 1C S-287, B-1, R.2, MS62 Brown NGC. Attractive derby-brown color with glimpses of golden luster at the margins add eye appeal to the glossy surfaces of this pleasing 1811 cent. Liberty's hair is sharply defined -- the strike is sharp centrally, but less-so at the margins where several stars lack completeness from misaligned dies and slight die bulge along the lower edge. A few marks are scattered about both sides, some of which can be traced to the planchet, which shows a shallow flaw below Liberty's jawline. Conditionally scarce this fine both as a date and for the type. Our EAC grade AU55.
