Buffalo Nickels
1921-S 5C MS65 NGC. The 1921-S has one of the lowest mintages of the series with only 1.55 million pieces produced; unlike the 1931-S, which has a similarly low mintage, few '21-S nickels were set aside. This Gem has medium chestnut and golden-gray toning. The date and mintmark are well-struck, and even the central devices have strong detail. A minor mint-made lamination affects the tip of the horn. Struck from clashed dies with striated fields, as made. Census: 37 in 65 (2 in 65 ★), 5 finer (7/17).
