Early Half Dollars
1794 50C O-101a, T-7, High R.3, Fine 15 NGC. Tompkins Die State 1/4. A Choice example for the grade, with moderate wear and exceptionally few marks. All of the devices are well-defined and the rims are bold. Some light, widely separated reverse adjustment marks are visible with a lens, yet they are nondistracting in hand. Areas of silver-gray toning intermix with pewter-gray overtones. This is an ideal collector coin and a sharp example of the first-year Flowing Hair type. Census: 8 in 15, 101 finer (7/17).
