Liberty Quarter Eagles
1843-D $2 1/2 Small D AU58+ PCGS. CAC. Variety 4-H. Late Die State with a pronounced die crack from the top of the eagle's left (facing) wing through the right side of the first S in STATES. More than 36,000 pieces were struck of the 1843-D and it is the most frequently encountered Dahlonega quarter eagle. The surfaces are bright with an overlay of light reddish patina. A few marks are scattered about, but none are individually concerning. Generous portions of mint luster remain. Softly struck in the centers.
