Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles
1924-D $20 MS64 PCGS. In February 1925, 13,012 Denver double eagles from the previous year were transferred to the Philadelphia Mint Cashier and likely put in the vault as uncurrent coins. Only 33 pieces were actually paid out by the Philadelphia and Denver Mint Cashiers. Of the several hundred survivors, this is an especially attractive example that displays rich, even reddish-gold color and bright satiny mint luster. Few marks are apparent and the strike is strong throughout.
