Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles
1925-S $20 MS62 PCGS. The S-mint manufactured doubles eagles from January through July 1925. A total of 3.7 million pieces were struck, of which Roger Burdette estimates 1,500 examples survive, mostly in circulated grades through MS62. Finer examples are very scarce. This piece has good peripheral detail with central softness. The opposite is usually true. Radiant luster sweeps across lightly abraded yellow-gold surfaces.
