Territorial Gold
1852 $10 Humbert Ten Dollar AU58 PCGS. K-10a, Low R.4. Kagin's "IINITED" variety, a later state of K-10. The U in UNITED has the appearance of two Is due to advanced die crumbling, as coined. This is actually an earlier die state, although extensive die crumbling is evident. Permission was granted to strike these 1852-dated coins in February, and they were only struck for four days, from February 11 to 14. This is a better-grade honey-gold example with moderately marked surfaces and ample mint luster. Listed on page 397 of the 2018 Guide Book. Population: 3 in 58, 7 finer (7/17).
