1797 1C Reverse of 1797, Stems, NC-3, B-11, Low R.6 -- Environmental Damage -- PCGS Genuine. Fine Details. Our EAC grade: sharpness of VG8, net Good 6. Breen Die State I, the usual die state for this elusive variety, struck before the reverse die cracked and eventually broke. The dark olive surfaces are slightly glossy, with good overall eye appeal. A few insignificant marks include a trivial obverse rim nick at 2 o'clock. There is no reason for the collector to wait for a nicer example, as the finest example outside of the ANS grades just one point finer according to Bill Noyes.
