Gold Dollars
1854-S G$1 AU55 PCGS. This is a well-struck example of the first gold dollar struck at the San Francisco Mint. Large denomination gold was the primary product of the new branch mint in 1854, and only 14,632 gold dollars were coined. This issue is scarce in AU grades and rare in Mint State. Original orange-gold luster remains in the fields on this Choice About Uncirculated example. The surfaces are smooth and the details are bold.
