Liberty Quarter Eagles
1889 $2 1/2 MS64 PCGS. The 1889 quarter eagle is a slightly more challenging date in high grade. This near-Gem is conditionally scarce, and finer pieces are rarely encountered. The strike is uniformly sharp aside from the eagle's left (facing) leg, which is weak as usual. Frosty peach-gold luster is original from the mint. Population: 64 in 64 (2 in 64+), 12 finer (7/17).
