Liberty Eagles
1862-S $10 Fine 12 PCGS. CAC. The San Francisco Mint struck a small mintage of 12,500 Liberty eagles in 1862, while the output at Philadelphia was even smaller, and the other branch mints were all closed due to the outbreak of the Civil War. This well-worn example retains some interior detail on the major design elements, which are all complete in outline, and the orange-gold surfaces are lightly abraded. Population: 3 in 12, 47 finer. CAC: 2 in 12, 3 finer (7/17).
