Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles
1923-D $20 MS66 ★ NGC. An impressive Premium Gem, this 1923-D represents a plentiful issue from a mintage of 1.7 million double eagles, but few have survived in the top grades. In fact, NGC has only certified 48 in MS66 ★, two in MS66+ ★, and only 50 finer examples from a Census total of nearly 6,000 coins (8/17). The brilliant yellow surfaces of this highly lustrous and sharply detailed piece exhibit wispy bluish overtones.
