1928 50C Hawaiian MS65 PCGS. One of the keys to the classic commemorative series, the Hawaiian Sesquicentennial half dollar is one of the true success stories in a series replete with its share of shenanigans, boondoggles, and overly ambitious ventures. Most Hawaiian halves were sold to an appreciative island populace from a conservative mintage of 10,000 pieces. Relatively few Gem or finer coins survive, and lightly toned, sharply struck examples such as the present coin are always in demand. Golden overtones float over the faintly iridescent silver surfaces amid satiny mint luster. The MS65 grade is optimal for most series specialists.
