1870 10C Standard Silver Ten Cents, Judd-837, Pollock-928, R.5, PR67 NGC. CAC. This Standard Silver design depicts a small bust of Liberty facing right. Her cap shows three stars. The reverse exhibits a corn and cotton wreath with the denomination and date inside. The remaining statutory legends occupy the obverse margin and upper reverse border. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. This is one of the more frequently encountered variants of this date and design. Examples were also struck in copper and aluminum and are significantly scarcer. The obverse shows a distinctive reddish center that is surrounded by blue at the margin, while the reverse is even blue overall. Nice reflectivity.
