Betts Medals
1783 Peace of Versailles, Betts-610, BHM-255, MS65 NGC. White Metal. A spectacular light gray example of the 1783 Peace of Versailles medal that marked an arrangement of peace between France, Spain, and England at the conclusion of the Revolutionary War. The treaty was signed at the same time as the Treaty of Paris that was signed by England and the United States. This is a highly important historical medal, and the present example ranks among the finest we have seen, with lustrous light gray surfaces and a brilliant copper splasher.
