Valentinian II, 375-392. Light Miliarense (Silver, 24 mm, 4.35 g), Constantinopolis, circa 379-392. D N VALENTIN-IANVS IVN P F AVG Pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust of Valentinian II to left. Rev. GLORIA ROMANORVM / CON Valentinian II, nimbate, standing facing, head to left, raising his right hand in salute and holding globe in his left. Cf. Bertolami Fine Arts 12 (2014), 977 (same dies). RIC -, cf. 85a-b (for Theodosius I and Arcadius). Apparently unpublished. Of the highest rarity, the best of only two examples known. Flan fault and with a die break and light doubling on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
