KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 13.97 g, 2 h), Amphipolis, struck by Kassander as regent, circa 316-311. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ΦIΛIΠΠOY Nude jockey on horseback to right, holding long palm branch in his right hand and reins with his left; below horse, wreath and Λ. Le Rider pl. 45, 22. SNG ANS 606. Beautifully toned and very well centered. Nearly extremely fine.
