Lucania. Poseidonia. Circa 530-500 BC. Stater (Silver, 27 mm, 7.18 g, 1 h). ΜΟΠ Poseidon, nude but for chlamys over his shoulders, striding right and hurling trident from his upraised right hand; cable border. Rev. ΜΟΠ Poseidon, seen from behind and nude but for chlamys over his shoulders, striding left and hurling trident from his upraised right hand; simple, dotted border. HN III 1107. SNG ANS 605. With a fine archaic figure of Poseidon on the obverse and with a dark patina as found. About extremely fine.
