Probus, 276-282. Antoninianus (Billon, 23 mm, 3.87 g, 12 h), Rome mint, 6th officina, 279. IMP PRO-BVS AVG Radiate, helmeted and cuirassed bust of Probus to left, holding spear over his right shoulder and covering his left with a shield. Rev. ADVENTVS AVG /R(crescent)ς Probus on horseback to left, holding long scepter in his left hand and raising his right in salute; to left, bound captive seated left and looking back towards the emperor. Cohen 39. Pink VI/1, p. 45 RIC 157. Sharply struck, with intact silvering, and an impressive portrait bust. Extremely fine.
The obverse legend break is rather an unusual one. (but see below)
