Kings of Macedon. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Stater (Gold, 19 mm, 8.57 g, 12 h), Abydos, struck under Philip III, 323-317, probably prior to 319. Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Charioteer driving galloping biga to right, holding the reins in his left hand and a goad with his right; below horses, Ξ and horse's leg; in exergue, dolphin. Le Rider -. SNG ANS 298 var.
