GREEK COINS

Akarnania. Leukas. Circa 470-450 BC. Stater (19 mm, 8.11 g, 8 h). Pegasos flying to right; below, Λ. Rev. Helmeted head of Athena right, wearing pearl necklace; all within very shallow incuse square. BCD Akarnania –. C.M. Kraay, "A Hoard of Corinth and Leucas from N.W. Greece" CH V, 28–9 (same dies). Pegasi 13/2 and 4 (same dies). Very well struck and beautifully toned. Reverse very slightly double struck, otherwise, extremely fine.
