Galeazzo Maria Sforza, in the tradition of the Sforza family, was a patron of the arts, especially music. Born in 1444, he was the fifth Duke of Milan from 1466 until his death, in 1476. His father, Francesco Sforza, was a popular Condottiero (a general) and ally of Cosimo de Medici. He was known for his cruelty and to be a seducer. He was murdered in a church by three high-ranked nobles of the Milanese court for political reasons and for possible rapes.
Of a very nice style, this ducat is typical of the Renaissance, with a superb portrait and magnificent coat of arms.
