Scarce French military naval officer's model 1837 pistol, "Royal de Chatellerault." 727 grams, 12-1/4" long. Well worn pistol with walnut stock and brass mounts, swivel ramrod and steel belt hook, lanyard ring and anchor mark in butt, back-action percussion lock, arsenal mark, and functional lock. Inscription on the lockplate "Mre Ru de Chatellerault" indicates it was manufactured at the French military arsenal at Chatellerault. With photo-certificate.
