Large stoneware "bellarmine" jug, probably German, ca. 1725-1775. 5620 grams, 16" tall, 10" diameter at its widest. This is one of the largest bellarmine jugs we have offered, with handle, lip and surfaces all complete (except for one small chink on the body probably at the time of creation), speckled-brown glaze and bearded-face medallion on shoulder opposite the single handle, two small side-by-side shield emblems below face. Impress your friends at parties when you pour wine from this jewel.
