Guatemala, Central American Republic, 1/4 real, 1845, very rare, encapsulated NGC MS 61, finest known in NGC census, ex-Richard Stuart. KM-1. Bold strike but with cud between mountains and crescent-shaped clip error in edge (obverse slightly off-center with parts of rim missing as well), very light toning and decent luster, in fact the finer of just two in the NGC census (the other being AU 55) for this key-date rarity with high catalog values. NGC #446209-009. Pedigreed to the Richard Stuart collection.
