Mysia, Kyzikos(?) AR Diobol. Circa 525-475 BC. Bearded head right / Head of tunny fish right. Unpublished in the standard references. 1.23g, 11mm, 6h.
Good Fine. Somewhat porous. Struck in fine style.
Bearing on the obverse a bearded portrait that could perhaps be the satyr Silenos, and on the reverse the distinctive and unmistakable triangular head of the tunny fish which graces the coinage of Kyzikos, this coin is apparently unpublished and possibly unique.
