Half Cents
1794 1/2 C High Relief Head, C-9, B-9, R.2 -- Environmental Damage -- PCGS Genuine. XF Details. Manley Die State 3. The coin is well-detailed and shows little wear. The reverse is deep chocolate-brown in color with scattered pitting along the right-hand margin that denies a numeric grade; a small spot is also seen at the U in UNITED. The obverse is the same color and largely smooth. However, a peculiar area of granularity stretches along a sharp line from the tip of the cap to the rim above the TY in LIBERTY, and spills over the upper-left edge of the planchet. Possibly an odd planchet flaw, although we encourage bidders to examine the coin in person and make a determination as to what they believe caused this oddity. There is also an old mark on Liberty's temple. Our EAC grade Fine 15.
