1801 1C NC-1, B-3, R.6, Good 4 NGC. Ex: Mervis Collection. Breen Die State I, with heavy clash marks at the upper reverse. These clash marks and associated die failure, while not diagnostic, are a good indicator of this rare variety. This example has the sharpness of Good 6 with minor handling marks on each side. The obverse is light chocolate with lighter brown devices. The reverse is steel-brown with slight surface roughness. Our EAC grade Good 4.
