1917 5C MS67 NGC. From a mintage of more than 51 million coins, the 1917 Buffalo nickel is surprisingly scarce in MS66 with only a couple of hundred pieces certified at NGC and PCGS combined. Those numbers fall to seemingly impossibly low levels in MS67, where the issue becomes conditionally rare. This is a softly frosted Superb Gem, boldly struck and toned in pale shades of lilac and rose. Completely devoid of any singular ticks or flecks. Census: 5 in 67, 1 finer (9/17).
