Mercury Dimes
1921 10C MS64 Full Bands PCGS. The scant mintage of just 1,230,000 pieces instantly guaranteed the key date status of the 1921 Philadelphia issue. Still, the small number of coins struck did little to prevent overuse of the dies, and as a result most of the mintage is strong at the centers and weaker at the peripheries. This Choice Full Bands example follows that pattern, with texturing in the fields and metal flow lines as well as incompleteness at the lower obverse rim. The central definition is sharp and pleasing, with a sharp portrait of Liberty and fully rounded, split bands on the fasces. There are virtually no post-Mint defects or marks to disturb the brilliant-white, high-luster surfaces.
